I put together how to use 'if'.

Because 'If' is useful word, but I am confused everytime I want to use 'if'.

TYPE ZERO: FACTUAL

If it rains, the road gets wet.

TYPE ONE: FUTURE POSSIBOLITY

If I win the lottery. I will visit Japan.

present form - will

TYPE TWO: IMAGINARY SITUATION(HYPOTHETIEAL) 実際はそうでない

If I were president of the Philippins, I would change some laws.

past tense - past modal (would/could/might)

was is more informal

×If I will→redundancy (canはOK)

TYPE THREE: IMPOSSIBILITY

If we had visited Japan last year, we could have met some of our friends.

past perfect - past modal + present perfect

MIX CONDITIONAL

*simple past→present perfect

If I were you, I could have made it easily.(もうすでに簡単にやっていたのに)

(could makeだと今の状況)

*past perfect→past modal +do

If I had studied hard, I could graduate with medals.

(過去を今後悔している)

It's difficult...

日常生活で使うのはタイプ1が多い？から

もしなんとかだったらこうするよ、的な感じで

普通に原型とwillで問題ないはず

実際に起きてないことに関して言う時は過去形にしてwouldにする

過去の後悔を話すのがムズいね。

さらに過去にするけど、考えている時点によって後半の時制が変わる・・・

そしてwishも悩むところ・・・勉強しま

Ifがいっぱいでてくるし、would とかcould とかの雰囲気がなんとなくわかる気もするw
